Using low production cost to get optimal yields
AgriEdge launched in Morocco is a satellite-based Precision Agriculture platform. It uses satellite technology to provide accurate, real-time information to farmers about the conditions of their crops.
By analyzing data from satellites, farmers can obtain information on vegetation, potential yields, water and nutrient requirements, as well as potential threats to crops such as diseases and pests.
Faissal Sehbaoui, Managing Director of AgriEdge : 'The ambition to enhance the productivity and sustainability of agriculture in Africa through innovation and digitalization was the founding pillar of AgriEdge'.
The AgriEdge platform's objective is to create a link between advanced R&D (research and development) in precision agriculture and farmers, and to develop digital services adapted to the African context.
The interest for farmers is to have an optimal yield with a low production cost. In terms of invoicing, AgriEdge offers formulas adapted to each producer's needs.
Faissal Sehbaoui shared that: 'AgriEdge services are accessible via two options: Freemium and Premium. The Freemium option is designed for small farmers and cooperatives. It includes access to technical recommendations and an electronic marketplace, and the Premium offer is aimed at large farmers, agribusinesses, agricultural consulting organizations, and institutions (including governments and NGOs), for whom we offer precise technical recommendations with high added value'.
The ambition is therefore to become a digital platform that integrates the entire agricultural value chain and is used by various agricultural actors across Africa.
The structure has already developed more than 6 Agritech solutions and launched several support initiatives for the Moroccan and African agricultural sector.
It is a valuable tool for Moroccan farmers seeking to maximize production in an efficient and sustainable manner.
